I want to take a minute and just talk to you like a normal human being.
Shop Complex is growing. Not in some flashy “look at us” way—but in a real, behind-the-scenes, figuring-it-out, building-something-that-actually-matters kind of way.
And with that… things are starting to change.
New Products Are Coming In
I’ve been working on bringing in more merch. More variety. More stuff that actually fits what this shop is supposed to be.
Some of these items will ship directly from me. Others will come from trusted suppliers I’m working with.
And I’m not going to pretend otherwise.
Every product will clearly say where it ships from:
- Shop Complex Local – shipped directly by me
- 3rd Party Shipper – shipped from a partner
If you place a mixed order, it might arrive in separate packages. That’s just part of expanding—but nothing will be hidden or unclear.
No guessing. No weird surprises. Just transparency.
Retro Game Services (This One’s Personal)
This is the part I’m honestly the most excited about.
I’m working on adding a retro game service—something for the people who have old games and consoles sitting around that just don’t work like they used to.
Stuff like:
- Battery replacements
- Cartridge cleaning and restoration
- Minor repairs
- Console clean-ups
- Possibly mods down the line
Basically—bringing your old games back to life.
If you’ve ever had to blow into a cartridge like your life depended on it… yeah, I’m talking about that.
I haven’t fully decided if this will stay under Shop Complex or become its own thing, but right now I’m leaning toward keeping it here and building it out the right way.
Let’s Talk About Reproduction Games
This one’s tricky.
I’ve gone back and forth on it more than once.
Because the truth is—cheap alternatives and emulators already exist. And for a lot of people, that’s the only realistic way to play older games without spending a stupid amount of money.
Not everyone wants to drop $100+ just to relive something they grew up with.
At the same time, some people are trying to build real, authentic collections—and that matters too. I understand both sides of this.
And I get it. I really do.
I believe people should have access to the games they love.
But here’s the other side of it—
I also sell authentic products. That trust matters to me. And I don’t want to blur that line or do anything that feels like it undermines what I’ve already built.
And let me be very clear about one thing:
Selling a reproduction game as authentic is dirty, deceptive, and outright wrong.
That’s not a gray area. That’s not “business.” That’s just screwing people over—and I’m not doing that.
Right now, I’m leaning toward not offering reproduction games.
Not because I think they’re bad.
Not because I don’t understand why people want them.
But because I want to protect the integrity of what I’m building here.
That said—this isn’t a closed decision.
I’ve been listening to feedback, and I genuinely appreciate everyone who’s taken the time to share their thoughts. This is one of those topics where there isn’t a perfect answer.
So I’m taking my time with it.
We’re Also Looking at eBay
Another thing I’ve been working on—
I’m looking at setting up an eBay page for Shop Complex.
This would give me a place to list:
- Authentic retro games
- Vintage and collectible cards
- Booster packs
- Random cool finds
Stuff that deserves a bigger audience and gives you more chances to grab something awesome.
Some people prefer eBay. Some trust it more. Some just like the hunt.
So… why not meet you where you already are?
Still Building, Still Learning
I don’t have everything locked in yet.
Some of this is still being built out. Processes, pricing, how everything flows—it’s all in progress.
And honestly, that’s part of the journey.
I’d rather take my time and do this right than rush something that doesn’t live up to what this shop should be.
If you’ve got questions, ideas, or even just opinions on where this should go—I want to hear it.
